eStem DTK6 has an abundance of talented staff and students. Recently, one of our 5th grade teachers, Mr. Jordan Whitfield, or Professor Walt as he is called, had his very first art show! Mr. Whitfield teaches 5th grade writing but is an extremely talented artist as well and was able to showcase many of his paintings, drawings and animations at the Brandon House Event Center. Staff, students and the general public were able to view, purchase and discuss art with Mr. Whitfield during the event. Thank you for sharing your artwork and passion for art with us Mr. Whitfield!
Good evening DTJH Families,

Downtown K6 has a superstar on staff! Mrs. Alia Pope, 4th grade math & science teacher, recently went to New York City to appear on the Tamron Hall Show! Mrs. Pope not only enlightens her students on math and science, she also lightens our hearts and minds with her fun videos requesting staff to "finish the lyrics" or perform a dance. We love Mrs. Pope and are so happy she is being recognized for her hard work and dedication to the teaching field. Here is the link to her interview. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ms3MUH8u3Ys

Competing in the spelling bee also instills a sense of pride and accomplishment that motivates students to excel in other areas of their lives.
