East Village Elementary students are immersed in STEM projects that facilitate a strong growth mindset by opening up opportunities to collaborate over complex problems. These collaborative experiences not only foster academic growth and development, they expose students to experiences where they are able to develop and work on social emotional skills as well. #evestem #everystudenteveryday #mistakesaremagic

Students in Ms. Armstrong’s class at eStem East Village Elementary have been learning about a variety of ways to code. This week they created their own visual and sound codes, then used them to communicate with classmates! Opening up the world of coding to our students is beneficial because it teaches vital critical thinking skills, supports the development of resilience and grit, boots math skills, gets them comfortable with technology, and teaches cause and effect. #kidscancode

eStem Downtown K6 is thrilled to show off our math and reading initiatives that are aimed at increasing your child’s intellectual growth and love for learning. Each day students will participate in our “I excel with IXL” and our reading “Power Time”.
Teachers have assigned each student with a set of specific math skills to work on in IXL. Students who complete the most problems with correct answers will be put on our grade level IXL Leaderboards and are recognized for their hard work and diligence. Prizes are awarded weekly to the top students in each grade. Students also spend time at the end of each day in Power Time. This allows students to strengthen their stamina in reading and to acquire more comprehension strategies. Building reading stamina is like training for a marathon. The more they read, the stronger and more confident readers they become. We believe that by combining the power of reading and mathematics, we can empower your child to become a well-rounded, confident learner.
