The East Village Elementary Chess Team continues to thrive with fierce competition and an influx of new members. In recent tournaments, the team has consistently performed well, securing 2nd place in the August competition, 3rd place in September, and 3rd place again in the November tournament. Additionally , several students have excelled individually. Nasir Hart (7th grade) earned 2nd place in the highly competitive division while Princeton Sebree (5th grade) placed 2nd in Beginner 1. Nasir also earned 3rd place in the August tournament, further showcasing their skill and dedication.

We had so much fun at DTK6 Fall Fest on Friday night! Costumes, games, food, prizes and beautiful weather! Here are just a few pics from the night. Shout out to our enrichment team for a frightfully fun Haunted Hallway!

Students in PLTW classes worked diligently on their dragsters. Incorporating all the knowledge they learned from doing assignments dealing with gear ratios, coding, designing and research. Once completed, students raced! While this is happening at DTJH, we have exciting activities happening on all of our campuses. In continuation of Friday's lesson in Mr. Jackson's Project Lead the Way class at DTJH, students conducted an experiment that further helped them understand how different fuel types affect distances for spacecrafts. By comparing the results of each fuel type, students gained valuable insights into the efficiency and performance of various propulsion systems in real-world space missions. East Village Elementary is always excited to spend time with our students and families for engaging activities. Our eTeam plays a pivotal role in making some of those events happen. EVE hosted its first Dunks and Dads events. All dads, uncles, granddads, and family friends were invited to spend some time playing games, having fun, and enjoying some great food! We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future.

In Mr. Jackson's Project Lead the Way class at DTJH, students engaged in hands-on experiments to explore the relationship between fuel quantities and the propulsion of a craft. They conducted various trials, adjusting the amount of fuel used and observing how these changes influenced the craft's speed, distance traveled, and overall performance.
