Jaylen Mallard Signing Day

I have watched you as a basketball player since you were in the 9th grade, but the real pleasure has been getting to know you for two years as the awesome individual that you are. In ten years, I will remember that you were good in basketball and that you had the talent that was going to allow you to compete at the highest level, but what I will remember most is your passion for your academic success, your goofy personality, and the good people that you put yourself around, the way you treat your friends, and how you interact with you family. You are a great young lady, and I will brag in the future that I had the chance to know you when you go on to do great things with your life.

Your next steps for the remainder of this season, and the remainder of your athletic career will be hard, and they will be tiresome, but I have not an ounce of fear that you will not succeed. Remember when circumstances get tough, you have to dig deep and work as hard as possible to achieve everything that you want. You also need to remember that you have a great foundation of family and friends that will support you in everything you do, regardless if you ever hit another shot. Take every trial in your life as an opportunity to show your greatness.

Lastly, your family is proud of you, your eStem family is proud of you, and I am proud of you. #MetsfaMilyForever
