It’s been another great week at East Village Elementary! Students and teachers have been working hard and learning about how to show HEART.
Lost & Found
We have lots of items in our lost and found. Please make sure to label your child’s jacket, lunchbox, and backpack with his or her name. This will help us return items that have been misplaced. The lost and found items are in the main office, so please encourage your child to come take a look if he or she is missing anything!
Conferences are next week!
Conferences will be held next Thursday, September 27 from 4:00-6:30 and Friday, September 28 from 7:30-12:00. Your child’s teacher has/will be reaching out with a method to sign up for a time. We encourage you to bring your child. Involving students in their conferences gives them ownership over their learning and allows them to vocalize how they are doing. We are excited to see everyone and talk about how we can work together to help our students grow!
5th & 6th Grade Dance
We hope to see our 5th and 6th grade students at the dance tonight! It begins at 5:30 and students will need to be picked up at 7:00. You will be able to drive through the breezeway in between the schools to drop your child off and he or she will exit through the same doors. Tickets will be $7 at the door and snacks will be available to purchase for $1.
Flu Clinic
Our flu clinic is coming up on Thursday, October 11th. Please be on the lookout for the flu clinic forms, which were sent home yesterday.
Attendance
It is SO important that your child is here on-time every day. Each minute students are tardy, they are missing out on valuable instruction and often the class meeting, which is time set aside each day to build a positive classroom community. We encourage you to have your child here by 8:00 a.m. every day.
Notes from the Office:
· Picture retake day is Monday, October 8th. You can order your pictures at mylifetouch.com with the picture day ID: RP018438Q2 or bring the paper order form at the time of the retake picture. You may also return your original package at the time of the retake picture. If you have questions about this, please email Mrs. Wirges.
· If you have not paid for your child’s community supplies, that payment is past due. Please visit www.myschoolbucks.com or send payment to the main office.
· Check out the gear in our eStore. We have t-shirts, water bottles, and car decals available to purchase! Go to www.myschoolbucks.com.
· Check-outs: Check-out ends at 3:15 each day. Check-outs should be reserved for appointments or emergencies only. When students are checked-out, they are missing out on instruction. If you are checking your child out every day, you may want to complete a walker’s application.
