A Note from the Director...

Greetings! My name is Melissa Gray, and I am tremendously honored to be the Director of eStem Downtown Junior High School. I love serving this great community and building relationships with staff, students, and parents. My goal is to ensure that my partnerships with each of our school’s stakeholders are built on respect and that our students are able to attend a school that is safe, welcoming, and dedicated to their growth.

I am a native of West Helena, AR, and began my post-secondary studies at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. There, I earned both my Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education and a Master's of Education in Teaching. Later, I was awarded an Ed.S. degree from Arkansas State University. My career as a teacher started in the Pine Bluff School District in 2009. Since being welcomed into the eStem family in 2012, I have served as a teacher, Dean of Students, and most recently as the Downtown Junior High School Assistant Director.

My passion is helping cultivate the minds of young people with the hope that they go on to become excellent members of our community. I believe in supporting this faculty and staff through effective communication and genuine respect for the work they do each day. Together, we will foster a positive school culture and share the belief that all students can and will achieve.
